Private Henry Davis

Army Number: 72976 formerly T/36108 Army Service Corps.

Battalion: 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Linton, Hertfordshire and lived at Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire. Son of Mrs Alice Baldwin, of 2, Courtfield Cottage, Town End, Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire. He was a labourer prior to enlisting on 12th December 1914 a Gloucester. He went to France on 9th June 1915 and was transferred to the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on 20th August 1917. He suffered gunshot wounds to his head between the 22nd and 28th of March 1918 and was treated at Trouville, France. He rejoined his battalion on 24th April 1918 and was killed in action, on 28th May 1918, aged 28, whilst in the line at Bouzincourt.
