Son of Ann Davis, of 90, Union Road, Nottingham. Went to France on 27th October 1915. Killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 20,  during the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.

Buried: Munich Trench British Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel, France. Row B, Grave 12.
