Born in Ousden, Suffolk and lived at Derbys. Son of George W. and Elizabeth Davies, of 52, Raven Street, Derby. He was an apprentice electrical engineer prior to enlisting on 30th December 1916 at Derby. He was posted to the 7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on 19th April 1918, went to France on 18th September 1918 and was posted to the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on 21st September 1918. He was killed in action, on 8th October 1918, aged 19, in the attack on the German positions near Bohain, France.
