Born in Liverpool and lived in Keighley, Yorkshire. Son of Caroline Davies. of 2 Back Myrtle Terrace, Bocking, Keighley. He was a labourer prior to enlisting on 17th July 1915 into the 7th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment. He went to France on 25th November 1915 and suffered gunshot wounds to his back and was transported to England on 5th February 1916. He returned to France 6th of July 1916 and was transferred to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on the 10th of September 1916. He was arrested for desertion on 6th July 1917 tried on 12th July 1917 and sentenced to death. He was executed on 15th November 1917.
