Born at Nant, Coedpoeth, near Wrexham. Son of Thomas and Ann Maria Davies, of 4, Windsor Road, New Broughton, Wrexham, North Wales. He enlisted on 22nd September 1914 at Wrexham. He went to France on 19th February 1915 and suffered gunshot wounds to his head on 1st June 1915. He was sent to England on 22nd August 1915. He was transferred to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on 6th April 1918. He died of wounds, on 21st August 1918, aged 24, due to gas poisoning at No. 2 Canadian General Hospital, Le report, France.
