Born at Kirk Langley, Derbyshire. Son of William and Lizzie Davies, of 28, Villa Street, Draycott, Derby. He assisted in family publican business at the Wilmott Arms, Borrowash, Derbyshire, before enlisting at Long Eaton, Derbyshire. He was killed in action whilst in the line at Mory, France 13th March 1918.
