Born at Ruddington, Nottinghamshire. Son of Richard and Martha Davey, of 86, Loscoe Road, Heanor, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France on 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 2nd December 1917, aged 27, in the German attack on the British line at La Vacquerie
