Born and lived at Carlton, Nottingham. Son of John and Katherine Davey, of 2 Norland Road, Nottingham. He was a woodturner prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 23rd September 1916, whilst serving in the line near Serre, France, during the Battle of Somme.
