Born and lived at Bedford. Son of John William and Annie Elizabeth Darrington, of Bedford, of 21 St. Mary Street, Bedford. Husband of Alice Gladys Darrington, of 17, Ashburnham Road, Bedford. He was a caterer prior to enlisting on 23rd October 1915 at Bedford. He was transferred to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment on 24th September 1917 and died from gas wounds, 18th August 1918, aged 30, at No. 2 Canadian General Hospital, Le Treport, France.
