Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born in Guiseley, Yorkshire. Son of Joseph Arnold and Emily Darnbrough, of 3, Victory Road, Ilkley, Yorkshire. He was a switchboard attendant prior to enlisting on 12th May 1916 at Keighley, Yorkshire. He went to France on 17th May 1917 and was killed in action, on 31st July 1917, aged 19, in the British attack near Bellewaarde Lake, near Ypres, Belgium.
