Son of William Alfred and Edith Danvers, of 17, New Chester Street, Derby. Enlisted at Derby 26th October 1915, went to France 13th March 1916 and was killed in action 1st July 1916, aged 20 in the attack at Gommecourt on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.

Buried: Gommecourt Wood New Cemetery, Foncquevillers, France. Plot 2, Row D, Grave 15.
