Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of John Daniel and Elizabeth Dann, of 14 Academy Place, Carrington, Nottingham. He was a cotton doubler prior to enlisting on 26th August 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France on 11th December 1914 and was killed in action, 12th March 1915, age 21, during the counter-attack by the Germans at Neuve Chapelle, France.
