Born at Riddings, Derbyshire and lived 278, High Street, Riddings. Son of Charles and Anna Daniels, of Church Street, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 17th June 1914 at Ripley, Derbyshire. He went to France on 1st March 1915 and suffered gunshot wounds to his right shoulder, on 26th March 1916. He was treated at No. 3 General Hospital, Le Treport, France, and rejoined his battalion on 6th June 1916. He was killed in action, on 1st July 1917, in the attack on the German positions to the west of Lens, France.
