Battalion: 12th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived in Radford, Nottingham. Son of John and Elizabeth Dames. Husband of Clara Dames, of 27, Ossington Street, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France on 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 10th August 1917, by German shellfire whilst employed on Railway maintenance near Ypres, Belgium.
