Born and lived in Sheffield. Son of Richard and Mary Dallyn, of 578, Chesterfield. Road, Sheffield. Husband of Annie Blackwell (formerly Dallyn), of 144, Lansdowne Road, Sharrow, Sheffield. He was a labourer prior to enlisting at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was killed in action on 5th July 1916, aged 27, in the attack on the German positions at La Boisselle, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
