Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Stanton, Staffordshire and lived at Mapperley, Nottingham. Nephew of John and Rachel Daykin, of 24, Mundys Row, Marlpool, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 21st August 1915.
