Born at Papplewick, Nottinghamshire and lived at Skegby, Nottinghamshire. Son of Herbert And Sarah Daft of Mansfield Road, Skegby. Husband of Olive Daft. He was a colliery shunter prior to enlisting at Stanton Hill, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 7th April 1917, during the attack at Le Verguier, northwest of Saint Quentin, France.
