Captain Thomas Bernard Cutts

Army Number formerly Private 17473 Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. Lance Corporal 739 Lincolnshire Regiment.
Battalion: 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of John and Annie Sophia Cutts, of Brooklyn, Private Road, Sherwood Road, Nottingham. He was educated at Uppingham School, Rutland. He was commissioned as Second Lieutenant to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment on 11th March 1915. Promoted Captain to the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment 1st October 1915. He went to France on 1st February 1916 and was killed in action during the attack near Trones Wood, Guillemont, France on 20th July 1916, aged 29, during the Battle of the Somme.
