Born in Bolsover, Derbyshire and lived at 58, Longlands, Bolsover. Son of Henry Arthur and Ada Cutts, of 5, Station Road, Bolsover, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Bolsover and served in Gallipoli during 1915. He died of wounds on 2nd October 1916, aged 19, at Chatham General Hospital, Kent.

Buried: Bolsover (St. Mary) Old Churchyard, United Kingdom. Grave 166
