Born at Langwith, Derbyshire and lived at Hull, Yorkshire. Son of John and Alice Cutts of Church Street, Bolsover, Derbyshire. Husband of Fanny Martindale (formerly Cutts). He enlisted at Mansfield and went to France on 17th August 1915. He was killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
