Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of William and Mary Cutts of 2 Hartwell Street, Nottingham. Husband of Elizabeth Cutts. He was a carriage painter prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 3rd July 1916, whilst serving in the trenches near Givenchy

Buried: Le Touret Military Cemetery, Richebourg-lAvoue, France. Plot 3, Row H, Grave 25.
