Born in Lenton, Nottingham and lived at 155, Franchise Terrace, Nottingham. Son of Mrs A. E. Cuttriss, of 7, Westville Street, Nottingham. Husband of Louie Cuttriss. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Hucknall. He was killed in action, 17th July 1916, aged 25, by German shellfire, whilst in the line south-east of Trones Wood, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
