Born at Walworth, Surrey. Husband of Kate Beatrice Cutler, of 106 Ferndale Road, Clapham, Surrey. He was a clerk prior to enlisting on 4th November 1015 at Clapham. He went to France on 4th December 1916 and suffered gunshot wounds to his right foot, 7th June 1917. He was taken to No. 20 General Hospital at Dannes Camieres, 8th June 1917 and was transferred to England on Hospital Ship Peiter de Connick, 10th June 1917. He returned to France on 27th March 1918 and was transferred to the 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 30th March 1918 and was posted to the 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 25th May 1918. He was killed in action, 3rd October 1918, in the British attack at Ramicourt and Montbrehain, France.
