Born at Son of Charles and Harriet Cursley, of Hallaton, Market Harborough, Leicestershire and lived at 4 Roden Street, Nottingham. Son of Charles and Harriet Cursley, of Hallaton. He was a police constable prior to enlisting on 10th June 1915 at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, age 26, during the attack at Beaumont Hamel, France during the Battle of the Somme.
