Born at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottingham. Son of Walter and Mary Cupitt, of 257, Alfreton Road, Nottingham. He was a printer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 25, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
