Born at Herne Bay, Kent and lived at 6 Bonser Road, Folkestone, Kent. Son of Arthur Thomas and Emily Gertrude Cullen, of Bell Inn Cottage, High Street, Minster, Kent. He was a car man prior to enlisting on 22nd September 1916 at Folkestone into the 28th Training Battalion. He went to France on 31st October 1917 and was transferred to the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 5th November 1917 He was killed in action, 28th March 1918, whilst in the line to the east of the Bray/Albert Road, France.
