Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Hamingham, Lincolnshire and lived in Lambley, Nottinghamshire. Son of Edmund Hebblewhite and Sarah Jane Croson, of School House, Ecclesall, Yorkshire. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting on 1st October 1907. He served in India from 7th October 1909 to 2nd September 1914 and went to France on 4th November 1914 and was appointed Lance Corporal on 19th January 1915. He was killed in action, 12th March 1915 during the counter-attack by the Germans at Neuve Chapelle, France.
