Battalion: 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Castle Gresley, Derbyshire. Son of William and Emma Croucher, of Linton Road, Castle Gresley. He was a colliery labourer prior to enlisting at Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. He served in Gallipoli during 1916 and was killed in action, 26th September 1916, aged 21, in the attack near Ovillers, France during the Battle of the Somme.
