Born and lived at Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Clara Crossley, of 10, Portland Street, Worksop. Husband of Mary Elizabeth Crossley, of 18, St. Cuthbert Street, Worksop. He enlisted on 10th December 1915 at Worksop. He was a woodturner prior to enlisting. Went to France on 8th August 1917 and was killed in action, 4th October 1917, age 32, during the British attack near Poelcappelle, near Ypres, Belgium.
