Son of Henry and Mary Rebecca Crosby, of 6, Love Lane, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. He enlisted at Gainsborough and was killed in action, 27th May 1918, aged 20, whilst the battalion was in a retiring fight from Montagne de Guyancourt, France.
