Private Harry Croom

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Kate Croom, of 6, Union Street, Beeston, Nottinghamshire. He was an iron foundry moulder prior to enlisting on 31st August 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France on 27th December 1914 and suffered gunshot wounds to his chest, 9th May 1915. He was transferred to No. 16 General Hospital, Le Treport, France where he died of wounds, on 20th May 1915, aged 26.
