Private Frank Ewart Crooks

Battalion: 2/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. Son of Robert and Ruth Crooks, of 8, Allcroft Street, Mansfield-Woodhouse. He was employed in a cotton mill prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He served in Gallipoli during 1915 with the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was later transferred to the 2/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and was killed in action, 6th December 1917, age 22, whilst serving in the trenches near Ribecourt, France.
