Born at Glossop, Derbyshire. Husband of Emily Crockett, of 22, Curtis Street, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner. He enlisted on 30th November 1914 and went to Egypt 7th November 1915. He accidentally drowned whilst bathing in a canal at Port Said, Egypt 4th August 1916, aged 38.
Buried: Port Said War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
