Born at Hemsworth, Yorkshire. Son of Walter and Annie Creighton, of 62, Highfields, Hemsworth. Husband of Florence Creighton, of 22 Victoria Street, Hemsworth. He was a bricklayer prior to enlisting on 11th December 1916 at Hemsworth. He went to France on 15th March 1917 and was transferred to the Battalion: 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 10th June 1917. He was taken ill with dysentery and was admitted to 53 Casualty Clearing Station, Baillieul, France, on 24th November 1917. He was then taken to hospital at Wimereux, 29th November 1917 and transferred to England on Hospital Ship Jan Breydel, 9th December 1917. He returned to France on 5th September 1918 and was posted to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was killed in action, 13th October 1918, in the attack at Neuvilly, France.
