Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Bridgewater, Somerset. Son of Henry and Ruth Cree, of 16, Sheppard Row, Newark, Nottinghamshire. Husband of Florence May Cree, of 19, Eldon Street, Newark. He was a brewer’s labourer prior to enlisting in May 1916 at Newark. He was killed in action, 1st August 1917, whilst holding “the Black Line” against German counterattacks near Westhoek, Belgium.
