Born at Barony, Lanarkshire and lived in Glasgow. Son of John and Margaret Lochhead Crawford, of 314, Duke Street, Dennistoun, Glasgow. HE was a joiner prior to enlisting on 13th August 1915 at Glasgow. He went to France and was transferred to the 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 11th January 1917. He was killed in action, 4th August 1917, aged 29, whilst serving in the trenches at Steenbeeke, Belgium.
