Born at Tiptree, Essex and lived in Kelvedon, Essex. Son of William and Mary Anna Cranmer, of 10 Rowley Lane, Kelvedon. He was a coal merchant’s driver prior to enlisting at Chelmsford, Essex. He died of wounds, 13th April 1917, at No. 36 Casualty Clearing Station, Cayeux.
