Born at Gentleshaw, Staffordshire. Son of Jeremiah of the Spinny, Burntwood, Staffordshire. Husband of Eliza Caroline Harris (formerly Craddock), of 206, Huntington Terrace Road, Chadsmoor, Cannock. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting. He went to Gallipoli on 7th November 1915 and died of wounds 5th March 1919, aged 47, at the military hospital at Lichfield, Staffordshire.
