Born 19th August 1893 at Derby. Son of Thomas William and Edith Margaret Coxon, of Merton House, 311, Upper Richmond Road, Putney, London. He was educated at the Brighton College School for Youths. He went to France on 28th December 1914 and joined the 1st Battalion. D Company, 3rd January 1915. Killed in action, 11th March 1915, aged 23, by machine-gun fire whilst charging the German breastworks in the attack at Neuve Chapelle, France.
