Born at Derby and lived at Radford, Nottingham. Nephew of Arthur and Ellen Sleigh, of 90 Monk Street, Derby. He enlisted at Nottingham and died of wounds, 9th February 1917, at 55 (2/2nd London) Casualty Clearing Station at Meaulte, France.

Buried: Grove Town Cemetery, Meaulte, France. Plot 3. Row B. Grave 12.
