Private Harry (Henry Lazarus) Cox

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Barlborough, Derbyshire. Son of Lazarus and Annie Cox, of Station Cottages, Spinkhill, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 25th August 1914 at Allestree, Derbyshire. He was posted to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 27th December 1914 and suffered severe gunshot wounds to his right thigh and abdomen. He died of wounds on 5th February 1915, at No. 2 General Hospital, Wimereux, France.
Died: 5th February 1915.
Buried: Wimereux Communal Cemetery, France. Plot 1. Row C. Grave 28.
