Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Shardlow, Derbyshire. Son of Thomas and Ellen Cox, of 11 Camp Street, Derby. He was a grocer prior to enlisting on 1st September 1914 at Derby. He went to France on 27th January 1915 and was killed in action, on 11th March 1915 during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, France.
