Battalion: 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Hannah Cowper, of 54, Devonshire Street, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland, County Durham. He was a labourer prior to enlisting into the Training Reserve Battalion, 5th December 1915 at Sunderland. He went to France on 13th May 1917 and was transferred to the 2/4th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, 31st May 1917. He was transferred to the 2/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 30th March 1918 and posted to the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 10th June 1918. He died of wounds, 26th July 1918, aged 3, at 62 Casualty Clearing Station, Arneke, France.

Died: 26th July 1918, aged 33.
