Son of Henry and Sarah Cowpe, of Priory Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire.; Husband of Florence May Smith (formerly Cowpe), of 40, The Bungalows, New Edlington, Doncaster. He was an ironmonger prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He died of wounds, 17th July 1918, aged 29.
