Husband of Mary Elizabeth Cowley, of High Street, Loscoe, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 29th March 1915 at Derby. He went to France 10th November 1915 and was killed in action, 3rd March 1916, aged 26, whilst serving in the line near Berlincourt, France.
