Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Stockport, Cheshire. Son of Francis and Sarah Coverley of White Cottage, Redmore Lane, Disley, Cheshire. Husband of Maggie Coverley of Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire. He was a cotton dyer prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 8th August 1916, in the attack on Delville Wood, France during the Battle of the Somme.
