Born at Oakham, Rutland. Husband of Jane Berridge (formerly Couzens), of 18, Whyburn Terrace, Butlers Hill, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted at Hucknall and was killed in action, 1st August 1916, age 35, whilst in the line near Mametz Wood, France. during the Battle of the Somme.
