Born in Nottingham and lived at 14, Virginia Street, Nottingham. Son of Elizabeth Goy (formerly Corbett), of 22, Independent Hill, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France on 28th June 1915. He was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 19, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
