Lance Corporal Arthur Copestake

Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Son of James and Mary Elizabeth Copestake, of 17 Edensor Terrace, Longton. He was a grocer’s errand boy prior to enlisting at Longton. He went to France on 27th August 1915 and was killed in action, 27th September 1916, in the attack near Le Sars, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
