Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of James and Ruth Cope. He was a professional soldier and went to France on 4th November 1914. Killed in action, 12th March 1915, age 30, during the counterattack by the Germans at Neuve Chapelle, France.
